About Toyne

As a family-owned business headquartered in the heartland of the USA, Toyne takes pride in building custom fire and rescue apparatus for departments of all sizes across North America and remains committed to the highest standard of quality in everything we do. What began in 1942 as a small custom fire apparatus business in small-town Breda, Iowa, is now one of the most respected and fastest-growing custom fire truck manufacturers in the country.

Today the company is run by brothers Mike and Bill Schwabe—sons of Roger Schwabe, a long-time Toyne employee who purchased the company from Gib Toyne in 1978. With a tradition of superior craftsmanship and customer service, our company remains committed to excellence and is driven to make Toyne the truck most trusted by firefighters across the nation.

The TOMAR Difference

Setting TOMAR Lights Apart

TOMAR manufacturers some of the longest lasting, highest performing automotive warning and illumination lighting in the industry. Some of the technology which sets TOMAR apart from the rest can be found in our patented T-Seal™ and performance-based Clear Vision Optics™.

T-Seal™ – Patented technology for increased longevity.

TOMAR achieves unequalled intrusion protection for our LED lamps using our patented T-Seal™ process. Our lamps use a thermally conductive material fused to a polycarbonate baseplate, which is then permanently sealed to our lens using linear vibration welding, preventing water and dust entry. The elimination of rubber seals/gaskets is one of the reasons TOMAR’s LED lamps have seen well over a decade in service, in varying types of environments.

Clear Vision Optics™ – Bringing discipline to bright lights.

In all of TOMAR’s LED automotive solutions, you will find the employment of our Clear Vision Optics™ (CVO’s). Our CVO optical system consists of a precisely aligned hybrid TIR collimator that efficiently collects the lumens emitted by the LEDs into a focused beam, followed by application specific output shaping optics to deliver the collimated light in the most efficient way to meet the intended use, while greatly reducing stray light.
